Should I become a consultant?

Working as a consultant may be right for you if you enjoy applying your specialized skills in a variety of environments. To supplement core staff, many companies hire consultants to work on a temporary or as-needed basis. Assignments may be short, medium or long term. Some can lead to permanent positions.

How is my rate determined?

As with permanent positions, your experience, education, the depth of your technical expertise, and, of course, market demand for your skill set, all have an impact on what you’ll earn as a consultant.
